Spread the love

Hey friend!

As we all know, digital downloads business is insanely awesome and can be life changing.

Mine pulled me out of poverty and has given me a financial freedom I previously only dreamed about.

Buuuuut — it’s kinda hard to get momentum when all you have is an IDEA and you haven’t even created a sellable product yet, am I right??

Side note – if you HAVE created your product but you just aren’t quite sure if it’s good enough to sell, read this article on how to know if your product is good enough to start selling.

Conversely, if you don’t even KNOW what you want to sell, I’ve got an awesome list of 60+ digital download product ideas for you.

When you know what you want to make but you don’t really know how to make it

If you haven’t even gotten to that point yet – friend, it’s time to start learning.

I mean – it’s all fine and dandy if you have an idea for a product but sometimes we don’t know how to pull it off.

Let’s say, for example, you’re a Youtuber and you keep thinking what your fellow Youtubers could REALLY use is bundles of digital sound effects for your specific niche.

You might not know how to make those things NOW, but that doesn’t mean you can’t do it.

I have a secret to tell you – YOU CAN pull it off.

You just have to put in the time to  learn how to do it.

It’s funny how sometimes we say things like “I could never do that” but the truth is, we really do have a lot more abilities than we think. Sometimes we just need to take a training class or make a concerted effort to learn.

You wanna know something funny?

When I was younger, I always was so jealous of those people who could do cute lettering. Like, I was awful at it.

All of the signs for the youth group car washes, research projects at school, etc – I never was the one to make them because my letters were awful.

And I used to say things like “ugh I suck at this, I wish I could be good like them!” but here I am, literally making a living with text art.

In my almost 40 years on this planet I’ve come to realize that natural inborn talent is such a small portion of what will make you good.

Learning, focusing, and PRACTICE is what actually makes you really good.

The other part is – it doesn’t have to look the way that it always has. I’m still not incredible at lettering – I’m practicing my hand lettering so I can be even better.

But I get around it by using fonts and learning how to digitally manipulate them in Illustrator to get the look I’m after.

How Can I Learn The Skills I Need?

It’s hard to give you specific resources since I don’t know what product you are wanting to sell but here-s the thing – you can learn all kinds of things online.

Youtube, Skillshare, Udemy, and so many more places have made it super simple to learn new skills for ANYONE.

Another good route would be to join Facebook groups for people who practice these skills, or even just Google for “learn how to do X” or something to that effect.

Chances are, the product you’ve chosen to make is something you know SOMETHING about, so the important thing is to look at your product critically and ask yourself how or where would you go to learn each individual portion of the product creation.

So – tl;dr is this – You can learn how to do anything you need to do in order to create your digital download product.

Capiche?

Alrighty then. Now go do it.

You’ve got this ?
